About Our Bishop

Bishop's Welcome | Biography

Bishop William La Rue Dillard is the oldest of eight brothers and sisters. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force where he was trained in the field of Aeronautics.

Spirited-Baptized into God's Family on May 6, 1956, he was divinely called and commissioned to the clergy on February 18, 1957 and was first licensed to the clergy in 1963. He was ordained in the Christian Church in 1965.

The Ordinance of Water Baptism, Clergy licensing, and Ordination into the Baptist Faith was administered to him in 1973 by Dr. Edward V. Hill, Sr. Pastor of Mount Zion, M.B.C., of Los Angeles California.

Academic Curriculum Vitae

Graduated from: L.I.F.E. Pacific Bible College, CA Class of 1963. He earned both the B.D., and D.D. Graduate Degrees in biblical history and theology from: American Bible Institute, MO Class of 1968 and 1969 respectively.

He entered the Human Behavior program at Hamilton University in New York where he earned a Ph. D. in 1973. Continuing his education, he enrolled in a post-graduate program at Trinity Theological seminary in Indiana.

"A Burning and Yearning in My Soul", "Invasion From Outer Space" - "Biblical Ancestry Voyage," (Black Characters in The Holy Bible), "New Christians' Bible Study Course," "Jubilation of Spiritual Gifts Discovery," and several others.

Marital Status

Married to Lady Betty Gay (Apple Blossom) Dillard, the Lord has blessed them to become parents of five children and grandparents to one grandson - their oldest son lives with our Lord.
